We get a lot of questions asked so thought we would add a section on the most frequent to help you.


Do we have vegan/vegetarian/gluten free options?

We try our best! We work with a standard menu ( obviously we know which dishes on this menu are vegan/vegetarian /gluten free) and a daily Chef’s Specials menu. If we are made aware in advance that a guest requires vegan/ vegetarian or gluten free meals the Chefs will happily try to add dishes to the Specials menu to tempt.


Do we welcome children?

We welcome well behaved children however this pub is an 

adult environment and children must be under adult supervision at all times! 

We do not have high chairs ( you are welcome to bring your own but please

 just warn us when booking to ensure you are seated at a suitable table with enough space for your high chair ).

Likewise, we do not have a baby changing area or play area; we are more the kind of place where children interact with adults than a pub aimed specifically at children.


Do we welcome dogs?

We love our canine guests but do need to know they are coming with you unless you are sitting outside. 

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and behave nicely.

We do keep one room dog free.

We have also welcomed alpacas and cats with guests (outside ๐Ÿ˜‚)


Are we wheelchair friendly?

Please tell us if you, or a guest, are bringing a wheelchair as we will assign you a table that is easier to access and show you the best way in (we have several entrances and some are easier than others for a wheelchair user).

Our washrooms are not wheelchair accessible (sorry-they were built years ago!).


Do I need to book?

It is advised as we can then ensure you have a table ready for you and it will help us to provide efficient service ( which can be a challenge if unexpected guests all arrive at the same time๐Ÿ˜œ).

Simply call us ( even if it’s only an hour before your visit) and we will happily help.

However, if you can’t book ahead, try popping in, we don’t mind, we will still try our best to accommodate you ( but please don’t be offended if we can’t find you a table).


Can I book online or via Google or Facebook?

We never take online bookings! 

If you choose to contact us via Google or Facebook then please be aware that internet reception is variable at the Red Lion and we are usually too busy with guests to be looking online frequently therefore we may not see your request for some time! Do we offer Traditional Sunday roasts?

Absolutely! 










We are made up of five rooms inside which are all different sizes, suitable for different numbers of tables which can be configured to accommodate most parties of guests. This is why we ask guests to call us to book.
