Chef's Specials Board and Puddings
The Chefs at the Red Lion, Boldre are very keen to offer local, seasonal and traditional dishes on the Chef’s Specials Board. This may include fresh Lymington Dressed Crab, fresh fish, whole or filleted, butchers specials or favourites such as our homemade beef wellington.
Angela makes all our homemade puddings on site and can often be found in the afternoon covered in flour or sugar, sorry, creating her sweet puddings. A master of the cheesecake, wonder of the Whisky bread and butter pudding, a goddess of the sticky toffee pudding, we just don’t know what we’d do without being forced to try each new creation (probably get slimmer!). Crème brulee, syrup sponge, grown up’s chocolate fridge cake, summer pudding, fresh fruit roulade, blemished Richard (what’s short for Richard….? Yes, you’ve got it!) the list could go on for a long time. A selection is always on the pudding boards along with New Forest Ices and a cheeseboard, just try not to be tempted!
Angela and the Chef’s change the boards with such frequency that its hard to say what will be on when you visit, but we are sure you will find it compliments the choice on our main menu!
Please understand if some items sell out; our dishes are homemade and fresh (we cant just pull something out of a box) and most take some time to prepare for you, however, if you are a fan of homemade, like us, we are sure you will appreciate this.
We so look forward to welcoming you soon.
